Kathy is the Owner and Artistic Director of Bunker Dance Center founding the Center 21 years ago at the prompting of friends and family. The studio started off as Bunker Boogie in homage to her mother whose nickname is Boogie and who instilled the love of dance and teaching dance in Kathy as she worked and taught side by side with her mother and sister in her mother's studio. Kathy holds a Master's Degree in the Arts from American University in Washington, D.C., performed worldwide with the International Folk Dance Company from Brigham Young University, studied and performed Flamenco with the world renown Luisa Triana, is the current director of the nationally recognized Nevada Youth Dancer's Company at Bunker Dance Center, and loves to choreograph, coach, and teach. Kathy married her best friend, Chris Bunker, 32 years ago and together they have 4 children and her first grandchild on the way 2016, making her life complete.
Aaron recently gained fame as the 1st runner up on "So You Think You Can Dance", Season 10. Aaron began his dance career at Bunker Dance Center at 7 years of age and continued to dance throughout his elementary, junior high, and high school years becoming a top dancer on the Bunker Dance Center Senior Nevada Youth Dancer's Company. After high school graduation Aaron has gone on to guest star and collaborate with his showbiz performer dad, Earl Turner, both on cruise ships and here locally at The Suncoast Hotel and Casino as well as starred in "Stomp Out Loud" at Planet Hollywood. Aaron managed to perform while attending and graduating from UNLV with a Bachelor's degree AND teaching Hip-Hop, Tap, and Jazz at Bunker Dance Center! We are thrilled to have Aaron on staff as he pursues his other dreams in music and dance.
Alexis Pearson has trained at The Dance Club since the age of 3 in ballet, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary. She has taught for over six years at the Vibe Performing Arts. She has trained and performed with the professional company Origins for 6 years. She has been on television shows such as "Live to Dance", "Dancing with the Stars", and "So You Think You Can Dance." She has been featured in music videos and other various commercials. She has also traveled to Hong Kong to dance in the Chinese New Year parade performances. Encouraging kids to seek their full potential and lifting their self-esteem is her specialty. Alexis plays an intricate role at the studio as the Assistant Director of all performance teams at Bunker Dance Center.
Ashley has grown up dancing at Bunker Dance Center and was a part of its very first Performing Arts Company. She danced with the International Folk Dance Ensemble at Brigham Young University for four years where she toured all over the United States, Quebec, and Europe. She was also a dancer and assistant president of the modern company DancEnsemble at BYU for two years. One of her greatest achievements in college was being presented the "Outstanding Choreographer Award" by the Contemporary Dance Division for her senior project. Ashley received her BA in Dance and has been spending the last five years performing and choreographing community theater musicals. Her current projects are Signature Productions' "White Christmas", "9 to 5" and "The Addams Family."
Ashley Onstott was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At the age of 17 she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she began her career as a professional ballet dancer. While dancing with Ballet West from 1996 to 2001 Ashley also completed her BFA in Ballet and her BS in Anthropology graduating with honors. Ashley holds national certifications from the American Council on Exercise and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In addition, Ashley is certified in aquatic fitness, Pilates, pre/postnatal exercise and Mommy-and-Baby fitness. While training in New York, Ashley was named one of the top personal trainers nationally by Town Sports International in 2003 and 2004. Ashley relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2005, and continues teaching and training in a variety of settings including Las Vegas Athletic Clubs. While in Las Vegas Ashley completed her MS in exercise science and health promotion from the California University of Pennsylvania and has been involved in numerous health and fitness programs including Body and Soul and Astrowright Spaceflight Consulting.
David Roberts is a Las Vegas native, who has developed an extensive knowledge over 14 years of experience teaching gymnastics and acrobatics. After 8 years of directing and teaching gymnastics and tumbling at Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center in Summerlin and other various City of Las Vegas facilities, David turned his studies and passion to the world of acrobatics beginning in 2007. For the past years David has studied technique development for performing arts under various artists, teachers, and creators including Jesus Villa and Uldi Hajdu. Davids teaching style creates an enjoyable, engaging, and enthusiastic environment of maximum learning for his students to reach their full potential. Welcome David!
Devon grew up dancing in the Chicago suburbs! She completed her B.S. in Kinesiology; Contemporary Dance at Indiana University. After moving to New York to begin her professional career, Devon booked her first Celebrity Cruise contract. Over the span of five contracts, she was part of the trapeze act, performed all styles of dance and was promoted to dance and aerial captain. Devon is thrilled to be a part of the Bunker Staff and continue into her 15th year of teaching dance and tumbling.
Diane comes to Las Vegas from Spokane, WA, where she taught tap for twenty years. This will be her fourteenth year at Bunker Dance. She has a total of over forty years of teaching experience. She danced in the "Golden Horseshoe" and the "Electric Parade" at Disneyland, as well as many convention shows. Her students have won many top awards at competitions, and she is most proud of her most accomplished student, her daughter Stephanie. Diane is also an integral member of the costume team at Bunker Dance Center.
Erina moved to Las Vegas to take on the soloist ballet role in "Phantom the Las Vegas Spectacular." She now teaches ballet full-time. She's a former company member of Cincinnati Ballet where she danced many leading roles as well as performed with many ballet companies in the US and Europe. She was a faculty member of Academy of Cincinnati Ballet for six years, and has taught master classes for ballet all over US, Tokyo and Zurich, and guest taught master classes at Interlochen Summer Arts Camp in Michigan. This begins Erina's fifth year on staff with Bunker Dance!
Faye is the new Bunker Dance Center Office manager! Though born in Guam, she grew up right here in Las Vegas. She comes to Bunker after many years as a retail manager, though she danced hula and Tahitian for over a decade. Faye has two children and - in her spare time- is studying for a degree in Medical Office Management.
Heather Kennedy Allen
Heather Kennedy Allen a native of Las Vegas, grew up dancing at different studios and was a Rebel Girl at UNLV during her freshman year. During that time she started teaching and working front desk at Bunker Dance Center. She graduated from UNLV with a B.S. in Dance Education, and her Masters in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Social Studies. While teaching at Bunker, she started teaching for the Clark County school district, and is on her 15th year with CCSD teaching U.S.History at Spring Valley High School. Over the course of her teaching career she worked with cheer leading teams and dance teams. Over 5 years ago, after being with Bunker for 12 years, Heather left Bunker to have her 2 beautiful children. She is now excited to rejoin the the Bunker faculty. Welcome back Heather!
Jasmine is a native of Las Vegas beginning her training at Nevada Dance Theatre (now Nevada Ballet Theatre). She has been a scholarship recipient for several prestigious ballet summer programs including ABT, Alvin Ailey, Bolshoi Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Pennsylvania Rock School. She continued her training under the famous David Howard in New York City where she received her BFA in Dance from the Joffrey Ballet under the New School University. Jasmine has been a teacher for ages 2-Adult/Professional all over California, Arizona, and Nevada for over 7 years and two years with Bunker Dance Center. She is also a teaching assistant for Allan McCormick (original Devil in Le Reve) when in Las Vegas. Jasmine was also an Artist in Cirque du Soleil's "Viva Elvis" at the Aria resort and casino and continues to perform throughout the Las Vegas area. She is very excited and blessed to be back teaching at Bunker!
Jessica started her ballet training at the American Dance Conservatory in Kentucky. In 2007, she was a finalist in the international ballet competition, Youth America Grand Prix. Jessica moved to Louisville, Kentucky and continued her training at the Louisville Ballet School before joining the company. She performed with Louisville Ballet for four seasons dancing in classics such as "Swan Lake," "Gisselle," and "Romeo and Juliet" as well as contemporary works and world wide premieres. While there, Jessica had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Val Canipaoli, of San Francisco Ballet, and Daniel Riley, of Bangarra Dance Theatre. She is herself an accomplished choreographer, with her contemporary work, "Sleepyhead," premiering at the Louisville Ballet's Gala. Jessica moved to Las Vegas to accept a position with the Nevada Ballet Theatre and has already had the great opportunity to perform in "Who Cares?" by George Balanchine. She is very excited to be teaching at Bunker Dance Center to share her love and enthusiasm for dance!
Kenady is so happy to be back home at Bunker Dance Center! She began her dance career training at Bunker Dance Center under the artistic direction of her mother, Kathy Bunker. Kenady holds a BA in Elementary Education as well as a Modern Dance minor from Brigham Young University. While at BYU she performed with the Tap Dance Company and taught tap several semesters. After college, Kenady took her teaching talents to India where she taught leprosy-affected children through the humanitarian organization "Rising Star Outreach." Kenady has worked as a teacher and choreographer at several of the top studios in the west including The Dance Club (Utah) and Dance Connection (Scottsdale). She has trained and teaches all styles of dance and believes the well-rounded dancer is the best dancer! Although she loves all styles of dance her specialty is tap.
Megan McBride Moore
True to the rhythm, eager to be on time, and dedicated to the dancers that came before her, Megan McBride Moore has a unique blend of styles that makes her a standout in the tap community. She has had the opportunity to take the stage with some of the world's most renowned tap dancers: Gregg Russell, Jason Janas, Sarah Reich, Michela Marino Lerman, Chance Taylor, Jason Kalish, Jason Rodgers and more. Currently she is a member of Gregg Russell's Tap Sounds Underground Company based in Los Angeles, performs with Sarah Reichs "Tap Music Project," and was the Co-Director of the 1st annual San Diego Tap & Jazz Festival this past Jan 2015. She was recently a judge for the competitions BravO! and Hollywood Vibe. As a choreographer Megan excels at bringing out the best qualities in her students while pushing their limits in a positive way. Her choreography has won many prestigious competitive awards and her dancers have gone on to pursue professional careers. Megan has also choreographed numerous youth musicals such as "Annie", "Beauty and the Beast", "Seussical" and "Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat." Megan's objective as an instructor is to dynamically train her students in the art of tap dancing to enhance their current endeavors while preparing them for the future. From 2008 until 2015, she was the director of the tap program at Danceology Performing Arts Campus in San Diego. Megan is able to break barriers with her students and help them to achieve goals as an individual artist and is excited to travel and spread the love of tap dance to the younger generation and to join the Bunker Family this year!
Nadine recently relocated to Las Vegas from Germany to teach children and teens the roots of Hip Hop. She is educated in "Old School" Hip Hop, Popping & Locking, House, Dancehall, Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary. She loves to show people that Hip Hop is not only what you see on TV, but that it is much deeper and has a lot more to offer. Nadine studied with with Mr.Wiggles, Showtime, Sugar Rae and Flockey, which gave her a diversity of opportunities to experience dance with other people and to develop her own style. She also took part in Battles: Funkin Stylez, Battle of the year, and Juste de Bout, to name a few. Nadine studied ballet, jazz and music for over 10 years, toured with dance and musical companies and was a Judge for talent shows in Germany.
A graduate of Canada's National Ballet School, Naomi Stikeman earned international acclaim while performing with The National Ballet of Canada, Béjart Ballet Lausanne, La La La Human Steps, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, The Copenhagen International Ballet, and Celine Dion's "A New Day." In 2002 her talent was acknowledged by the Canadian Academy of Film and Television with a Gemini Award for Best Performance in a Performing Arts Program, and a Gemini Nomination for that same category in 2004. Naomi created her production company One Yellow Fish Inc. in 2007. Her film "Coldspot" was honored at the Choreography Media Honors in Los Angeles and her film "Pink Navigator" is now a permanent installation at the new St. John's Medical Center in Santa Monica CA. Naomi's stage production "Çaturn", choreographed by Peter Chu and Crystal Pite, was recently presented at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Upon her return to Las Vegas in 2010, Naomi founded The Las Vegas Performing Arts Intensive; an annual summer program that connects the youth of Las Vegas with celebrated performers, choreographers and directors working today. Naomi is honored to work with the incredible faculty and talented students at Bunker Dance Center! We welcome her back for a third year!
Patti moved to Las Vegas from San Diego in 1996. She has been involved with the studio one way or another since that time. Her daughter, Emily McTernan, started dancing with Bunker when she was five years old. Emily is now dancing in the Cirque Du Soliel Beatles "Love" show. Patti worked for fifteen years as a certified court reporter in the San Diego and Los Angeles area. When she moved to Las Vegas, she was very happy to be a stay-at-home/dance mom working part-time in their family business. Now that her kids are grown, she has taken on the role as Costume Coordinator for the studio.
Originally from Hawaii, Rachel Berman spent almost 30 years in New York City before relocating to Las Vegas. She has had a diverse career in all aspects of the field of dance, the bulk of which was a decade spent performing principal roles with the Paul Taylor Dance Company. She has also performed with Ballet Hispanico of NY, May O’Donnell, The American Repertory Dance Company, The Joyce Trisler Danscompany, and the hula companies of Na Lei Hulu I Ka Wekiu and Pua Ali'i 'Ilima O Nuioka. Rachel has appeared in numerous television productions with the Taylor Company and was featured in the Academy Award nominated documentary DANCEMAKER. She served as Associate Producer for Dancers Responding to AIDS, Company Manager for Company C Contemporary Ballet, Development Officer for the Taylor Company and Programs Manager for Dance/NYC, a dance advocacy organization. She has re-staged Mr. Taylor's works throughout the United States and has been on faculty at the Joffrey Ballet/ New School BFA program (NYC), Mid-Pacific School of the Arts High School (Honolulu), LASALLE-SIA Singapore College of the Arts, the American Dance Festival (North Carolina), University of the Arts (Philadelphia), the Colburn School (California), California Institute of the Arts (Los Angeles), Mills College (Bay Area) and the Taylor School. Rachel holds a BFA from Purchase College and an MFA from the Hollins University/American Dance Festival. She is also a freelance writer for Dance Magazine, Dance Teacher and Dance Studio Life and thrilled to be at Bunker!
Shauna was educated at Brigham Young University in Music Education and Piano Pedagogy. She taught piano lessons for 26 years and semi-retired from teaching in 2000. In 1988 she auditioned for a role with Signature Productions, was cast in a fun character role and was hooked again by the acting bug. Shauna then joined the Board of Signature Productions in 1989. She has been a Director/Musical director at Signature Productions as well as taking several roles on stage. Shauna taught Musical Theatre at Bunker a few years ago and is excited to be back again teaching with her sweet daughter, Ashley. Shauna is a co-director of our musical theater company, Ovation.
Sruti received training in Bharatnattyam for 20 years from Kalamandalam, Calcutta, India. She learned Kathakali from Guru Govindan Kutti. She received national scholarship for modern dance in India. She worked with Dr. Manjusree Chaki Sirkar & Ranjabati Sirkar, the legendary figure of Nava-Ntritya movement. Sruti represented India as a modern dancer in various international festivals. In 1998 she went to Europe to perform in World Expo (International Festival). After coming back to India, she was selected by internationally famous dancer and choreographer Chandralekha of Chennai and started working under her. In 2000, she went to Singapore to represent India in Singapore Art Festival. In 2010 Sruti went to China to choreograph a dance piece under direction of Guy Caron, director of creation, "KA" by Cirque Du Soleil. Sruti was Chairperson, Art Director and choreographer for NABC 2012 Closing Ceremony "East meets West."
Stephanie Keil is a native of Virginia. She has resided in Las Vegas for ten years. She received an Associates of Science with high honors in 2011. She currently attends University of Nevada Las Vegas full time to obtain her Bachelors in Biochemistry. Stephanie plans to one day be a Pediatric Oncologist, as she loves to work with children! Prior to working for Bunker Dance Center she worked front desk for some years at a dentist office. Stephanie has been with Bunker Dance Center for two seasons now!
Tiffany is originally a New York City based Dancer, Singer and Actress. She has been a dance educator since 2007 beginning at her Family's dance studio where she studied Ballet, Pointe, Tap, and Jazz with an emphasis on technique. Before entering high school, she was accepted into the Joffrey Ballet School's Jr. Trainee program in NYC where she studied Ballet and Pointe. In her high school career, she attended USDAN with Scholarships to attend the ballet intensive, and eventually became a dance Intern herself her Junior year. Tiffany also attended the Long Island High School for the Arts from 2008-2010. Making a transition into Musical Theater, she studied both Dancing, Singing and Acting from the NYC American Musical and Dramatic Academy's Dance Theater program in which she graduated October of 2011. Determined to get out there and dance, she graduated a two year conservatory program in a year and a half with honors. Tiffany most recently finished touring with the First International Tour of Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast', as the Green Silly Girl and an Enchanted Object. Other past theater credits include 42nd Street, (Ensemble, u/s Anytime Annie), Chicago (June), The Goodbye Girl (Donna). Tiffany has also worked on TV and Commercials, including New York State Lottery, Quebec Lottery, SONY, Bump App, NBC's Red Nose Event and more. She has worked with Choreographers Jason Wise, Phil Orsano, Oren Korenblum and Lamont Brown. Concert dance credits include The Lori Leshner Dance Project, Salcetera (Latin Dance Revue), and Forever Blonde (Pop dance Revue). Tiffany has recently moved to Vegas and is thrilled to continue educating at Bunker Dance Center! She is also a faculty member at Cardio Barre Las Vegas.
