Dress Code

Please review the dress attire requirements below. Your child is expected to adhere to this code. Please purchase a dance bag for your child and LABEL ALL SHOES as well. For your child's benefit, dress code will be strictly monitored.

MUSICAL MOVEMENT:

Any color leotard and tights. Please no costumes or tutus. Pink ballet shoes, no foam slip on shoes will be allowed (in other words, you must purchase real ballet shoes). No Jewelry. Hair pulled at least half up half down. Dance skirts if your child is old enough to wear the skirt the entire class.

PRE-KINDER, KINDER/1ST, AND 1ST/2ND GRADE TAP/BALLET COMBOS:

Any color leotard and tights. Pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes. No T-shirts. Dance shorts worn over tights and a leotard are acceptable. Sheer dance skirts are allowed. Hair pulled at least half up half down, ponytails, pigtails, and buns are accepted. No Jewelry.

1ST/2ND GRADE AND OLDER TAP/JAZZ COMBOS:

Any color leotard and tights, dance pants; dance shorts or capris are preferred over pants. No Jewelry. Hair in a secured bun. Black jazz shoes and black tap shoes are required.

ALL ONE HOUR BALLET CLASSES AND 2 DAY/WEEK BALLET CLASSES:

Black leotard and pink tights. Pink ballet shoes. Hair in a secured bun. No Jewelry. Sheer dance skirts.

ALL ONE HOUR TAP, JAZZ, LYRICAL, MODERN, OR TURNS CLASSES:

Any color leotard and tights. Dance pants are allowed if they do not drag on the floor. Black jazz taps required for tap. Black jazz shoes or gore boots for jazz. Jazz shoes, gore boots, or lyric sandals (ball sandals, or half-soles) for lyrical and turns classes. Lyric sandals/bare feet for modern. No t-shirts. Hair in a secured bun. No Jewelry.

ALL HIP HOP AND CHEER CLASSES:

Loose fitting cotton-knit pants, dance pants, cheer shorts (for cheer), basketball shorts (for hip hop) or sweat pants and dance or sports t-shirt. Dance sneakers or tennis shoes. No platform tennis shoes. Solid based tennis shoes are needed for cheer for stunting and lifts. Hair pulled securely back. Knee pads are recommended. NO JEANS, NO OVERALLS, AND NO JEWELRY!

MUSICAL THEATER CLASSES:

Any color leotard and tights. Dance pants are allowed. Dance skirts are allowed as well. No t-shirts (dance t-shirts are acceptable). Hair pulled securely back. No jewelry. Jazz, ballet, character or tennis shoes are acceptable footwear. Please dress appropriately for a movement based class.

BALLROOM CLASSES:

Boys must wear dress pants (Dockers or linen pants acceptable) and a t-shirt, polo, or dress shirt (no jeans and no shorts). Boy's shoes: Black church/dress shoes with a smooth surface bottom (no rubber tread). Girls must wear bootie shorts, leotards, or fitted dance pants and ballroom shoes with 2 ½’’ heels (no spike heels and no tennis shoes).
